Rose Mountain

Small kitchen garden
A rooster she couldn’t eat
Children who didn’t want enough
a husband who thought that was fine.

A mountain with no purpose
except a place for light to play
She hated it when they went
to hunt on the mountain,

Could they shoot the light?

Her name was Rose
to no purpose that mattered
so she named the mountain
after her name and what she thought about most.
