Thank You

The day of giving thanks is due
so they want it from the heart.
Our words don’t mean a thing to them
but they’ve used them from the start.
When we ask them how much cash they’ll pay
they laugh and say “not much”.
So we pull a thousand nooses round
and say “thanks, we’d rather not”.
