Awareness and Perception

"It takes courage to grow up

and become who you really are. "

                       -- e.e. cummings

In this life, experiences present themselves and we usually begin right away to categorize them in terms of how much we like or dislike them.   If we encounter more things that we dislike than like we feel sad.  Later, we may begin to notice that in everything we dislike is contained a little piece of something we like, and learn to concentrate on those little flavorful pieces instead of the distasteful whole.  This is called "keeping a positive attitude."

If one becomes aware of their constant judging and realizes that this is only a function of one of their organs (their brain), and then takes a step further to live in the space of that non-judgmental awareness that simply observes the self as it labels, one begins to experience a peaceful joy of being.  Much more of life becomes enjoyable, and one discovers a constant source of entertainment in the endearing fantastic stories the brain is always making up.

Some of them become poems.
