Life Changing Moments

Poor Lorca!  Poor Apollinaire!
Betrayed by the friends
they trusted most, those artists
we still revere. They held their best friends
in clouds of good will which
then turned to clinging shrouds.
Each wailed as we at birth,
clutched air to halt his fall,
then taught himself trust,
but it would not hold,
though still the cradle rocks.
