Hats of The Royal Wedding
The world watched Kate Middleton wed Prince William this morning and so did I. I was all tucked up at 5am this morning in front of my flat screen TV, laptop by my side, and I loved every minute. I knew that as soon as the first pix appeared on the internet of the hats of the wedding guests appeared, I was going to gather them up for a blog post so here we go with my faves.
First Fave is obviously the bride’s wonderful wedding veil pictured above on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. I love the simplicity of it. TV pundits said the tiara was made by Cartier for the wedding of the present Queen’s mother and father and the Queen gave it to Kate to wear for the wedding today as her ” something borrowed” — lovely tiara, lovely story.
Nobody could outshine Kate on her day, but Victoria Beckham came close in a smashing chapeau by Philip Treacy ( who else!)
Carol Middleton, mother of the bride, looked radient in a lovely, traditional hat. You can see that Kate comes by her poise and fashion sense naturally. The apple does not fall far from the tree.
The groom’s stepmother( you know who she is), looked wonderful as she entered the Abbey with her husband, Prince Charles.
Wouldn’t you know Sarah Ferguson’s girls would do something out of the ordinary. Once again, the apple does not fall far from the tree. Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice look as full of fun as their celebrity mother. Not sure how I feel about those hats though they sure are attention-getters.
And last, but certainly not least, the groom’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II wears a simple but elegant broad brimmed yellow hat to match her outfit.
For a look at the rest of this slideshow of wonderful wedding hats go to Celebuzz where I found these pix and check out more wedding photo galleries. There are lots more splendid hats to see there.
