Christopher Shawn Barker: REvelATIONship
Better known in the spoken-word community as “CB,” his poetry ranges from entertaining to enlightening to downright jaw-dropping, as edgy and somewhat controversial pieces have become his trademark. A competitor in the 2009 Individual World Poetry Slam, his furious and yet fluid style has garnered much attention, yet he has been known to show a softer side as well. Musician, poet, producer, CB does it all and the indications are what we’ve seen is merely a sign of greater things to come.

These poems were written in Burlington, Vermont the year I decided to leave the University there. Having grown up close to New York City, these poems have a crawling out of skin feeling that I attribute to my four year stay there. Currently, I live in Philadelphia, where I continue to write poems, take photos and work on songs with my band The Powder Kegs. MFB III - Eye on Life
I am an artist, poet, songwriter, actor, teacher, newspaper columnist, and vocalist. I spend my days creating miniature theatrical and musical sculptures for many theater gift shops and galleries, as well as teaching 1st through 5th graders art twice a week.
When I have time between Dodgeball leagues and Co-ed volleyball programs I run, I write poetry. I look forward to reading and writing on this site as well. -MFB III
Tara Bowen - Hives
Hives is a product of my own chronic hives, an inability to let my alarm clock have the final say (also chronic), and a super-glued heart. The glue is superb, by the way. I got my BA in History at Brigham Young University and my MS in Literature and Writing at Utah State University. Now I spend most of my time playing with my sweet family… and I like to write about it.
